Product Overview
The foundation of a healthy lifestyle includes a balanced diet consisting of a wide variety of foods, rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. However, most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins and minerals from diet alone. Surveys indicate that at least one in three Americans takes a daily supplement. Most health authorities support and encourage such usage. The June 19, 2002, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association stated, It appears prudent for all adults to take mulivitamin supplements .
The National Health and Nutrition Evaluation Survey repeatedly demonstrates inadequate intakes of a number of nutrients including calcium, vitamin B12, iron, vitamin D, and folic acid. Regional differences in dietary preferences along with variations in nutrient densities of foods owing to diverse growing conditions lead to further inadequacies in both vitamins and minerals. Selenium is but one example.
The recommended Daily Value (DV), that replaces the previously used Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs), assures protection from frank deficiencies of nutrients that have been associated in the past with diseases such as scurvy and pellegra. Larger intakes provide protection against a number of degenerative diseases including cardiovascular disease, cancer and osteoporosis.
ENDUR-VM™ is available in two formulations, one with iron and another without iron. Iron is necessary in the diets of premenopausal women. Conversely, there is no need for supplemental iron in the the diets of postmenopausal women or men.
