Americans’ Favorite Supplements | Which Ones Do You Take?

Americans' use of supplements hit an all-time high in 2019 and continues to climb as we deal with the pandemic, according to the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN).

CRN’s independent surveys find that about 80% of us take at least one supplement daily and most of us take four different ones daily. It also shows that over half of the people surveyed added a supplement to their regimen this year.

Curious about which supplements most people are taking and our team favorites as well? Read on to find out.

Supplement Use at All-Time High in the US

“What’s your favorite supplement?” isn’t a common topic of discussion, even when you work for a supplement manufacturer. Some of Americans’ favorite supplements correspond to an increased concern about immune health the past two years.

“Vitamin D usage significantly increased since 2020 (52% vs. 42% in 2020), as has zinc (22% vs. 15%) and vitamin C (40% vs. 35%),” says the CRN. “The increase in usage of these supplements is particularly notable, as each has been mentioned in the past year as supplements that could be helpful for combatting COVID-19 and boosting overall immunity.”

In addition to vitamin D, here are the 10 most popular supplements from the survey:

  1. Vitamin D
  2. Magnesium
  3. Omega-3
  4. CoQ10
  5. Multivitamin
  6. Probiotics
  7. Curcumin/turmeric
  8. Vitamin-C
  9. B-complex
  10. B-12

Many of these are preferred choices of our teammates as well. Like the people surveyed, most of us have added at least one supplement to our daily regimens in the past two years to bolster our immune systems and overall health.

In January, we also launched our Taxifolin Complex SR (sustained release) with 500 mg of high-potency vitamin C, 15 mg of highly bioavailable zinc bisglycinate, and 50 mg of Lavitol® dihydroquercetin (taxifolin). It’s a team favorite for immune defense and antioxidant protection!

Here are our other top picks and a bit about each supplement to help you decide if it may be right for you.

“I can't go about my day without taking two tablets of dihydroberberine (DHB). While living an active lifestyle, I sometimes lose control of my diet and take in a lot of carbs, causing me to feel bloated and tired during the day. Dihydroberberine SR is an a highly bioavailable form of berberine with sustained-release action that makes it easy on the stomach. It’s an effective nutritional therapy for glucose balance, lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health.* Learn how dihydroberberine helps the body.
